SHOCKING PINK

Inspired by Simone de Beauvoir’s insight in The Second Sex—"One is not born, but rather becomes, a woman"—I reflect on how female identity is shaped by societal expectations. Female artists have long questioned and challenged these imposed identities, strengthening women’s awareness of self-representation and redefining their own narratives.
Through jewelry design, I explore the connection between pink and femininity, examining how the meaning of pink has evolved alongside the identity and significance of women. This work is an invitation for women to embark on a journey of spiritual liberation and self-awareness, breaking free from imposed definitions and embracing their own identities.
