I’m NOT an OBJECT

Inspired by the objectification of women in society, I reflect on how women are often viewed, consumed, and traded as commodities. Their bodies, appearances, and even emotions are stripped of their humanity, reduced to mere objects of commercial value.
To illustrate this phenomenon, I created a shelf using copper sheet and wire, aged to evoke the appearance of a prison—symbolizing confinement and restriction. On this shelf, I placed 3D-printed female body parts, each marked with height, weight, and price, emphasizing how women are measured and valued as objects. The body parts, made of plastic and hand-painted, resemble the plastic dolls we played with as children—manipulated and molded to fit societal expectations.
Through this work, I aim to satirize the way women are objectified and remind everyone that women are not commodities; they are individuals with independent thoughts, emotions, and intrinsic worth.
I want to satirize this phenomenon through jewelry. And show everyone that women are not objects, that they are individuals with independent thoughts and feelings who deserve to be treated with dignity and equality.
